The winners are…..

Thanks to all of you who entered the book give away contest!  We had a great response, but there can only be two winners.  Congratulations to Heidi K and Catherine W.  Please check back for more give aways in the future.  Also, I will be sharing a few great recipes from my two new books on Good Day Utah (Fox 13) 8 am on Friday, Sep 3rd.  Set your DVR’s for that time or tune in then.

Last day for the book give away!

School is starting and life is going to get busy.  I would like to give away two free copies of my cookbook to help with gearing up for the Fall.  Personally, my freezer is empty from the lazines and craziness of the summer.  It is time to stock my freezer again and get ready.  We will be stating dance lessons, music class, soccer, adult softball, preschool and 1st grade.  I’m feeling a little overwhelmed at the moment, but I know stocking my freezer will help.

From now until Monday Aug 23, I am giving away two free copies of  “Fabulous Freezer Meals: Over 200 Great-Tasting Recipes to Save Time and Money” published by Walnut Springs Press in Salt Lake City, Utah!  If you already have a copy, this book also would make a great wedding present or gift for someone you love so please enter.

The Dating Divas date night on the cheap

12 darling ladies called the “Dating Divas” were on KSL’s Studio 5 this morning sharing fun date ideas to do with your spouse.     One of the ideas highlighted on this video clip is to go to a book store where  Tara and her husband picked up my two new books and decided to have a cook off!   Her husband is a huge U of U fan and she is a  BYU fan.  You will have to watch this clip and visit Dating Divas to get new fun date night ideas on the cheap.

I love their motto:

The real act of marriage takes place in the heart, not in the ballroom or church or synagogue. It’s the choice you make – not just on your wedding day, but over and over again –and that choice is reflected in the way you treat your husband or wife. -Barbara De Angelis

The rivalry has made it to the kitchen. Thanks to two new cookbooks, Cougars and Utes alike can create themed snacks to support their team for the next big throw-down.

It’s the Dad’s Life

This has nothing to do with freezer meals other then it just makes me laugh and laugh.  Whenever I need a little pick-me-up, I will return to this post.  My husband Mark could easily be in this.  We have 4 daughters,  Mark drives our riding lawnmower weekly with and he cried (he says “almost cried”) when he  took the girls to see Toy Story 3 last week.   Mark also has been icing his  hurt back for a few months now.  He sure enjoys living the Dad’s Life.
